Kid's Triathlon

This is all we have to show for the triathlon. A photo of a blank entry guide. In spite of their moms forgetting the camera at home, Antonio and Crystel did great at the triathlon. On Saturday they participated in the Kids Triathlon at Melvin's On The Lake in Spicer, Minnesota. They had a 50 yard swim, a bike and a run. This was the first time we observed Antonio's competitiveness coming out. He actually lapped his sister on the bike. For the biking portion, the parent's were supposed to be counting the kids biking three times around an area marked off in a parking lot. We are pretty sure Antonio went around three times - Jody was counting his laps - and we are pretty sure Crystel went around only twice. I was counting her laps. Crystel finished the triathlon right behind Antonio. We think she saw Antonio getting off his bike for the run and thought she should get off her bike too. Oh well. We didn't inform her of her error. Both kids were very proud of themselves and it was fun to cheer them on. We even cried a little bit. Antonio and Crystel finished in the middle of the pack of five and six year olds boy and girls. Next year Antonio will be in a different category than Crystel due to how their birthdays fall. We'll remember the camera and perhaps the kids will have not need their training wheels.
